Summary

ZnS:Mn-gly and C60 fullerene nanowhisker–ZnS:Mn-gly composites had been synthesized and characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), power dispersive X-ray (EDX) and Raman spectroscopy. The photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) below UV gentle irradiation was evaluated by UV-vis spectroscopy utilizing ZnS:Mn-gly and C60 fullerene nanowhisker–ZnS:Mn-gly composites. The C60 fullerene nanowhisker–ZnS:Mn-gly composites confirmed higher photocatalytic exercise of MB degradation than the ZnS:Mn-gly composites. The kinetics examine for the photocatalytic degradation of MB with ZnS:Mn-gly and C60 fullerene nanowhisker–ZnS:Mn-gly composites as photocatalyst below UV irradiation adopted a pseudo-first-order response charge regulation. The steadiness of the photocatalysts after the photocatalytic response was studied utilizing XRD and SEM.
